Community Care & Wellness

Care reminds us that our well-being is deeply connected, and that healing together is both a personal and collective act of transformation.

"Care is Resistance & Renewal"

We believe care is an act of resistance and renewal. In a world that often asks us to keep going despite exhaustion, we choose to slow down, listen, and nurture one another. Through compassion, mutual support, and shared healing, we create spaces where people can rest, recover, and find strength in community. Care reminds us that our well-being is deeply connected, and that healing together is both a personal and collective act of transformation.

Ways We Care for Community

01

Community Care Events

Every year, we come together as a community to celebrate care in action. These include our Holiday Community Care event (November, HMoob Heritage Month Gala (April) and HMoob American Day Celebration (May) brings our community together to honor and celebrate our roots.  These are more than an just events, it’s a reminder of what’s possible when we show up for one another.

Rapid Responds & Mutual Aid

We believe in the power of mutual aid as a tool for resilience and connection. When challenges arise whether due to crisis, disaster, or community need, we respond with collective action. Our rapid response efforts are grounded in relationships and trust, ensuring that support reaches those most affected swiftly and with compassion. By uplifting the strengths and leadership within our own community, we transform moments of struggle into opportunities for solidarity, care, and lasting impact.

Community Wellness Market

Since opening our Community Rapid Emergency Food Pantry in November 2025, we have served more than 1,500 individuals and distributed over 18,000 pounds of food. The Community Wellness Market is an expansion of this rapid response effort. It is a place of care, connection, and empowerment, meeting immediate needs while strengthening long-term community wellness by offering free access to healthy food and basic items and honoring personal choice.
